S4 Purchase query

Post by Biggins » Sun Oct 26, 2003 1:45 pm

Hi Guys,

This will hopefully be my 1st post of many, as i'm in the throws of sellecting my S4. I currently drive a Honda S2000 and am looking forward to a return to silky smooth 6 Cylinder and huge torque rather than a 9000rpm frantic screamer. :29428-red4:

My questions are as follows;
The car i'm interested in is a '99 (T) Silver Avant with 71000 miles up at £14k. My plan is to sell or p/ex my S2000 for £17-£18k and use the excess funds to give the S4 a thorough check-up plus taking out a warranty, chip uprade, suspension change and maybe brakes. Do you think this is a sound idea? Who would you recommend taking the car to for the work? I was thinking AmD or Jabbasport.

I will obviously have the car RAC inspected & HPI checked at purchase and will then immediately take the car in for refreshment work.

Thanks in advance.
Chris.

p.s. are any of you guys in the Leics./Notts./Derby area who would be prepared to go and take a look at the S4 to give an owners opinion? I would obviously cover your fuel costs plus a pint or 3.

Im a newbie my self, good choice of car though.

I have heard good feed back from AMD, a lot of people on this forum use them. I have chose to go with Oettinger but there are many other tuning companies out there like revo, apr, jabba etc...

Thanks guys.

The Car is in Uttoxeter and I will be viewing sometime during the week. I just need that re-assurance that my budget is large enough for an overhaul of tired components, warranty and maybe chip. Don't want to get fingers on this deal.

Welcome to the forum Biggins,

Your doing the right thing by getting an RAC/AA inspection, it costs a little more for a 4x4 but well worth it.

I can vouch for AMD they certainly know their stuff when it comes to S4's they done enough of them now. Can be a bit pricey but they're a good bumch of lads n lasses.
