18 inch Avus alloy wheels.. How much?

Post by ogg14 » Sun Aug 31, 2008 8:23 am

How much would a set of original Avus 18 inch wheels cost second hand... with good tyres!

They came of a 52 plate S4 and i wouldnt mind fitting them to my 1999 S4... They would fit... Wouldnt they?

I have a potential purchase for the set of 4 at a price of £150... They will need some refurbishing but they arent in bad condition... This seems to be a really good deal for the money...

Any advice would be appreciated...

And also... I have read a lot on this forum that people are changing out the N75 valve... and also upgrading to 710,s

Does this give you any more boost.. If not.. Whats the real reason for them doing this?

Sorry for the silly questions but am not a mechanic... but i would replace all if its helps in the running of my motor

Many thanks

Andy

£150 for the set? Bite their hand off! I paid more than twice that.

The N75 is a boost controller. People have been changing these for the RS2 item for more boost, but you are better off doing a search on here, as there is a lot to be read on the subject.

The 710N valves are the DV's (Divertor Valves). Defo get yourself a pair of these. They should set you back about £40+ for the pair, but will ensure your car can hold boost more reliably (presuming of course there are no other issues) than the stock 710A valves.

And to answer your first question - Stigter sold a set of 5 recently for £550, although they did look immaculate.

Have a look at replica wheels made incidentally by a company called replicas.
Why do they call it rush hour when nothing moves!?!

Standard S4, but not for long.

I know where they are coming from so they wouldnt be replicas!!!

Just a good deal!!!!

I have bought them anyway for the asking price of £150... They will need a rub down and paint but all in all a great deal... and will look great on the motor when i have refurbished them...

Thanks for your comments... appreciated...

Pi*sed off at the turbo problem or scared of the future competition? ;-) Seriously though, I'm sorry to hear of the turbo problem. Can't you just buy a couple of CHRA's and keep the car?

I couldn't possibly afford another motor, but I might be interested in anything useful for my upcoming conversion. Send me a PM..

Mike

FWIW, as an option, I bought 18" replica Avus wheels from Elite Direct.

They look well on my S4 and more importantly fit right over the RS6 brakes without spacers. Clearance between caliper and spokes is high - maybe even 10mm. Clearance between inside circumferance of wheel and outer edge of caliper is not so much at only around 5mm.

Do you have the RS6 discs as well(as opposed to B7 RS4 I mean)?
What are the offset of the reps?

I have the MRC setup - the more expensive of their two offerings but the one that requires the least clearance. RS6+ discs, RS6 calipers.

Think the offset is 35?
