re:turbo whine n/s turbo

Post by f1 » Tue Jun 17, 2008 4:22 pm

Ok just got back from le-mans and my car has developed a whine on spool up! It was doing it in france but i figured this was down to the car being fully loaded and me not exactly slacking in the speed depatment!
However the car has now been emptied and the noise is still there.
Have a few idea's,n75 will be changed tommorow but i read somewhere the the actuator pipework can split so i will check this as well!
The car did fault code yesterday and spat out charge pressure exceeded!
Any ideas welcomed as i am v'busy atm and dont have time to cover all the basses!

Thanks
Simon

Sorry if this has already been covered but couldnt find any reference to it!

Boost pressure is fine but obviously spiked at some point, did catch one of the downpipes on a speed bump the other day and i think the noise started after that! Has anyone had this issue with the turbo flanges that i have read on some of the stateside forum's.

boost may be fine, but if it has a leak it will have to work harder to make your fine pressure.

Ok the f-hose was split Image hence the overboosting! Have some new turbo's now and a samco hose kit on order as im not 100% sure there isnt another boost leak! As the car will be stripped for the new hybrid k03's (once there finished) i thought i may as well fit the silicon hoses at the same time! everything that i do to this car will be available at some point as a package if it works ok on my car! (i will be advertising on here in the near future once we have worked out costings for all the mods we have lined up)
