Another Water temp sensor sorted
Hello mate - Its done finally. Mashed the sensor up to get it out and had big dramas with the retaining clip (you'd think this would be metal) but got there in the end!
Car is perfect except now having a bit of a battle with Audi over a small spot corrosion, but thats a different post all together!
Thanks for all your suggestions. Hope i can help you guys out at some point!

Thanks. I think it's the green 4 pin one. My temp gauge sometimes sit's on 90 then it will move down to 80 and back up again when it feels like it. So i am presuming it is the same problem as others have mentioned in this thread and the temp sensor needs changing?Virdee Autos wrote:If its the green 4 pin one then 059919501A
Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!
Mine has been doing exactly that for the last few weeks. Picked up a new sensor from Audi this morning, 15 minutes after lifting a screwdriver it was fitted. Seems to be back to normal now, needle sitting just on the left hand side of 90.s4-99 wrote:Thanks. I think it's the green 4 pin one. Yep it was the temp sensor for me too. Here's a laugh for you......I took the filler cap of the coolant tank before taking out the old sensor
Well the old sensor came out easy enough, and so did all the water/coolant that followed it..lol... so a new sensor a full bottle of G12 and some water and all sorted

At least your sensor came out easy enough!
I had to resort to getting a pair of long nose pliers, and playing tug of war with it, and breaking half of it in the process!
