BRAIDED HOSES FOR RS4 CONVERSION...

Post by ADYS4FKU » Mon May 05, 2008 8:21 pm

Need some advice. Just won some RS4 front brakes on ebay.
What to fit some braided front brake hoses. Does anyone know which ones to buy? S4 saloons or A4 Quattro Est. Just need the fronts. Am running on 19" RS6 rep. Thanks in advance

Get the RS4 brake lines as I have been told they are already braided.

Just buy audi oem, like docurley says they're braided internally. This means grit can't penetrate the braid and chaffe the actual pipe as can happen with regular braided hoses.
S4 - no longer missing 1 engine. Last seen leaving trailing black lines of gearbox oil.

Buy coated PTFE brake line and it keeps the <beep> out.

James Lister Motorsport can supply all the parts and make them yourself, dead easy!

no point running uprated hoses on just the front.
the brakes work on two diagonal systems so if one front pipe is rock hard and the rears are 10 year old rubber you will still feel a spongey pedal if the pipes are bulging.

I had mine made up but to be honest having just refitted a rea subframe I removed two of the Goodridge Motorsport pipes and two of the rear hardlines and replaced four bits (2 hard 2 braid) with two Black diamond braided pipes I had left over from a Mk2 Golf project!.
so long as they are not too short or massively too long then a bit of extra length is not a bad thing (still talking about brake pipes here!).
