Unless you use the car hard at trackday's i would stick with dot 4, that is what i have done.
Thanks for that, i'm still a bit confused though :? So is it just about the boiling point? Each of the different fluids mentioned have different boiling points then? I dont track the car but do alot of playing when i'm out and about

@JEZ99: You say "ATE Super Blue for me as well. Good stuff, works well" How or in what way does it work well? Does it give you better braking? I'm just interested to know why people use different fluid and what gains/benefits there are.... :beerchug:
Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!

I've gone back to dot 4 from 5.1. The dot 4 though is Motul racing fluid as opposed to the cheap brand 5.1 that I bought. I was getting brake fade before I change the fluid and thought may have been the pads even though they were Porsche endurance pads. Soon as i changed the fluid I noticed a difference as the Motul had a much higher boiling temp and I hardly get any brake fade at all now. Try and do the clutch at the same time if you can as it runs of the same reservoir and my fluid came out black. I'll send you a link if want good quality brake fluid RS246 members get discount as well :beerchug:

Ok cheers guys, so the conclusion as far as i can make out is: Higher boiling temps for better fluid wether it be a better dot 4 brand 0r dot 5.....It also helps with brake fade by having a better fluid.......

@Grimreaper: If you can PM me the link for the brake fluid or post it up, nice one.... :beerchug:

As Boxerdogted said and has also been said by others the 5.1 and SRF fluids are very hygroscopic and will require changing more often. (SRF recomend at least every year or more often dependent on use). The ATE blue is a good fluid, it has a high BP for a dot 4 fluid and is used a lot in motorsport. (It is commonly known as "BMW Blue"). I think BMW used to use it in their Touring Cars in the past.
I changed over to it as I've used it in historic race cars to good effect. It doesn't suffer brake fade as bad as some and doesn't require bleeding out all the time. It has certainly helped on my S4 with its brake problems. (Along with an ECS stage 4 front kit and stage 1 rear!)
Hope this helps.
