Thinking of selling advice plz

Post by nikb » Mon Apr 14, 2008 8:34 am

Right it snot a forsale post, but maybe later on.

Due to massive change i am thinking of selling my KO4 S4.

The car is a 98 Noggy blue S4
122,000 miles, full s/h, All MRC since 84,000 miles.

I basically have over 10k of reciepts from doug.
The car runs in the KO4 Turbo's, all pipework, 700cc injectors, bosch fuel pump, RS4 intercoolers, miltek exhaust and gutted pre-catts.
Porsche brakes, uprated suspension, H&R ARB, short shift, 18" RS4 alloys
Proffesional tinted windows
RS4 Clutch and Full cambelt/rollers change again by doug.

Cant think of much more at Mo as still half asleep

But what do you reckon i could get for it??

To make over 9K it would need to be a late 99 facelift model. Pre-facelift aren't going to make 9K.

Why not Jeff?

Do you think buyers would be put off by the lack of traction control? Other than that, can't really think of any proper reason why a pre-facelift would be worth so much less.

Perhaps having an analogue clock puts people off?
Maybe square side repeaters are offensive to the eye?
Perhaps the boot locks make people think of unsightly 'outies'?
Perhaps you're talking sh*te!

Perhaps because it's 2 years older?

I think Jeff's on the money. Thing is though you may get someone who just wants the car - only takes one drive behind the wheel of such mental power and the sense of occasion for some is enough to part with the cash.

my point exactly. I sold my Nov 99 saloon with a very similar spec (130K miles) for £8750.
Perhaps you're talking sh*te!
Quite possible....but then I've sold a K04 facelift car and you haven't.

Avants always worth more than saloons.

You'd need an enthusiast. With petrol prices what they are and a soft used car market it would struggle to get over 7k in my opinion.

best to buy on condition rather than mileage,as with all previous quattro and s cars condition rather than year seems to dictate price,im sure s4,s will go this way after a couple more years

Cheers for the replys :o

Mixed opinions, but thats what i expected.
Would never let it go for 7k, but never expected 10k.

Not in a hurry to sell, as got a house i am tryin to sell at mo aswell (divorces eh!!!) And also have a diesel van that i now drive to work.

Dont think facelift has a lot of difference unless you are that into cars like on here.
There are a lot of people who buy the car for what value it represents and what has been done to it, and thats the buyer i will hold out for.

Thanks
Nick

At the end of the day it's worth what someone will pay for it. Good Luck :)
