Widebody S4
Ash,
I've got a widebody S4/RS4. Originaly facelift S4.
Engine, brakes and suspension all modified about as far as possible.
I'd be happy to talk about process and costs if you're interested.
p.m. me.

Yup, it's either going to be NZ or Canada. I appear to have enough points to get into both so it's really down to a choice of which I like most. My brother is going to NZ in a few months as he's travelling around Oz at the moment so I'll be going out to see if I like it first.Philws4 wrote:Out of interest wombar, where are you thinking of emmigrating to ?
My call is for N.Z, if i get much more fed up with this country!
With house prices the way they are over here at the moment, I could almost go over to either of those countries and buy a house outright. Anyway, I shan't go too off topic on this thread.
Haha, yup I'm very picky, and I admit that. But when I'm spending £10k on a car, it's got to be the right one.Blue_Thunder wrote:That's because there are buyers like you out there
You can buy an RS4 and modify everythihng on the car that makes it an rs4 - so if you do that maybe it would be cheaper to start with an S4.

There are days when I wonder whether I should have kept my S4 and just modded it to the hilt rather than buying my RS4.
If you heavily mod your S4, then remember some insurance companies may not touch you for such a heavily modded car (depending on age etc) and some others may only provide cover for the "basic" car underneath in the event of a loss.
We perhaps need ZeroK66 to pop in to give his own opinion since he has recently had his S4 treated to quite a few extra horses.

RS4 in the only colour to have - Misano Red | MRC Remap | RS6+ brakes | H&R and Custom Performance Parts suspension |

If you dont "do it now" you never will.

I've often toyed with selling my S4 and starting on an RS4, but for me I like my saloon.Ads4 wrote:Good point Doug...if you invest 10k in an RS4 it is still an unrecoverable amount up to a point; it's the RS4 that holds it's price, not the mods done to it..... Do the wide body conversion
I also like the low down torque the S4 engine gives, it's much more suited to the type of driving I do.

Mine is still S4. Julians is OEM RS4 and I must say looks good.JDB wrote: Mark and Jules, or in fact anyone with the RS4 front bumper was it OEM? Was it a b1tch to fit?? Cost?
Couldn't agree more about a wide arch saloon looking the 'nuts', another reason I won't be selling my saloon. You never know what might happen in the coming months

Yes James - OEM RS4 bumper - I bought it from a fellow forum member (Quantum John), he had already performed most of the adaptation work so I struck lucky there. Bought for £210 from John, then got Greg Howells (Southam Bodies) to do the spray job and fitment. Once adapted to fit the S4 it's pretty straightforward - the only things to bear in mind are the 2 struts that hold the bumper to the front of the car need extending by 10mm with shims (or buy the proper RS4 struts) - extending the S4 ones is much cheaper though. Also the front wheel arch liners need additional strips to cover the gaps (Greg did this in 10 mins though - so quite easy to do)
