I think these are the ones GrimReaper has, the link was in a thread a while back that had the same picture as he posted in this.

Matt
It's this style you need with the heatshield....

Bugger. The ones I got are the same ones that Docurley is using, I got the link from a thread a while back recommending them, though I haven't installed them yet becasue I can't figure out how to! So, are we saying that the ones without the heatshield are no good then...?

They're not *no* good, but if you're using your full-beam then you'll be burning them out much more quickly. It's all about how long the things will last. LED's don't like getting hot, an dour sidelights are really really close to our main beams.

Yes these are the ones i have. Didn't realise about heat affect on them at the time although didn't see the heatshielded ones being available when i ordered them. I've been using them for several months now and not had a prob with them yet although i dont use main beam a great deal unless flashing some numpty who thinks the xenons are full beam lights. When/ if they go i'll be sure to go the for the heatshield ones next time.

Anyone know if the same bulb will fit the B6 S4?
I really like the way they match the xenon lights

Phone your Audi dealership and ask them if it's an H6W bulb for your sidelights. If it is, then yes, these are the ones to use, if you're going to.

As far as matching, I've had pretty bad luck, actually. I've had 1 in 4 match the Xenon - I've seetled for a matching pair that's slightly warmer than the Xenons - less blue, more yellow. Still better than the incandescents though... :)

Chunky, having just checked ETKA it looks like the B6 has the same H6W sidelamp bulbs as the facelift B5.

Cheers for looking at that peakz. Noticed on another thread that some people are using the halogen side light? Is there much difference in colour/ brightness between these 2?

I compared my Philips BlueVision H6W against S4TAN's LED's and mine looked yellower but they actually put out more light.

I'm entirely sure if our headlamp reflectors/lenses are suited to anything other than xenon and halogen bulbs, decent LED's can give good light output but directing it is a different matter altogether.

As mentioned before, the sidelights are practically useless when driving, fine as parking lights though!

Yup - looks like an H6W with offset pins.
