17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (usually temp sensor or thermostat)

The other code [17704 - Carps] is usually the temp sensor, but some early V6 model's had thermostats that would open very early. You can check the radiator on a cold start and see when it first starts flowing coolant to find when the thermostat opens. This should be somewhere near when the temp. gauge reaches the normal running range.
