Ah thanks, the tarty complete waste of money RS4 carbon covers help!, and the new coolant reservoir (old one cracked as they do).
Really happy with the looks now can't ask for more; Y pipe re-spray was cheap and easy, really tidied up the engine bay.

Another quick pic, (note the cut away air intake section, easy to do, I always thought it looked a bit cramped under the edge of the bonnet there so opened it up a tad,

Respray it yourself?

Yes the carbon covers are an unnecessary expense but they look the dogs and that's what it's all about  I approve 100%

Yep resprayed it myself, just aerosol paint, it is heat resitant, but I don't think it needs to be, just what the store had in the right colour on the day, the fiddly bit was smoothing down the moulded edges, gray primer and a few top coats, honestly makes the engine bay look great.

Neat job opening up the air-intake - notice any difference?

What a great thread. Nearly as good as keeping exhaust tailpipes shiny. Keep the OCD up guys! :)

Ah, dunno, it just looked so narrow and squashed in against the bonnet before!, maybe a couple of HP, it all counts! only took a hacksaw, a file and a few minutes. :)

I know a daft post but what the heck, I had to show somebody, wish I'd kept quiet now  , I am getting custom down pipes and my DTS fitted tomorrow, so most of the stuff I do is sensible!!

All posts welcome and nothing wrong with tasteful mods IMHO and if you think your thread is daft go do a search...
