Changing MAF
Can anybody point me in the direction of a 'How to' change my MAF. Also any do's and dont's would be appeciated. I know I might sound stupid, but I want to do it myself, and I have never done anything like tthis before.

Should just be a case of unscrew the MAF from the intake housing, install the new one then do a throttle body alignment by either removing the batt neg lead for a period of time so that the learned values are cleard OR use vag com and instigate one.
Wanted: C5 RS6 Avant
Audis are cheaper than women, and when they finally leave they don't take your kids and half your stuff....
although smack either one about and the police turn up

Hi Paula
I have changed/cleaned/removed the Maf on many occasions, including when changing the air filter on a regular basis. It really is a very simple job.
1. go to an audi dealer and get an exchange deal on a new Maf (i.e pay approximateley £90 for a new one and receive approx £20 refund for return of the old one.
2. Unclip sensor cable, undo jubilee clip to concertina hose, undo two spring clips securing MAF to Air Box ( be careful that they do not pop and get lost down into the heat shields)
3. remove old MAF ( be careful to leave large rubber o ring in place)
4. reverse process with new MAF
5 Recconect sensor cable
6. Restart car and enjoy improved performance whilst taking old Maf back to Garage and collect refund
Job Done - No callibration or throttle body reset neccesary
Possibly the easiest job on an S4
Regards
Jimbo

It goes infinately better!
Effortless overtaking even in 6th on the motorway!
A remap lets me be lazy, no cog swapping and still loads of oomph.
Although, when I fancy a blat with cog swappage I can't help but giggle.
In my case my first S4 was remapped, this one I have now isn't (wrote my other one off
) and in comparison it feels dog slow.....
