Correct offset? Replica RS4 9 spoke 18's onto a B5 S4

Post by StuH » Wed May 16, 2007 5:02 pm

The RS4 18" 9 spoke replicas I was about to buy are available in both ET35 and ET45. The ebay company selling them seemed unsure as to which was correct for my 99 S4

Sorry, I know this info has been posted previously I just cant find it. Does anyone know for sure?

How wide are they (Standard spec is 7,5" x 17" ET 45)?

Don't have an answer however you could check yourself, if you buy ET 45 they will be .25"/6mm closer to the suspension upright. If this is tight you could always buy 5mm spacers - more £/hassle though, perhaps someone will have the answer for you soon.

Definately 35. Audi fitted me some original 18" 9 spokes with a 43ET and the car wouldn't move off the ramps due to the callipers stuck hard against the inside of the spokes.

Running ET35 replica Nouvolaris here. Anymore and they would be outside of the wheel arch I would say.

Be aware that some of the castings on the replica's will still hit the standard front brakes even at 35mm offset. Mine are 33mm and would have hit with new discs and pads. Not a problem with B5 RS4 brakes though...

Too true. My ET 35 18" RS4 B7 reps also hit the standard callipers with new pads, yet they clear the RS4 B7 big brake set-up!

I've got 8x18" reps with ET35 and 5mm spacers. Want 15mm on the back and 10mm on the front to make it sit just right.

bought and fitted

Post by StuH » Tue May 22, 2007 9:46 am

I received my 18"/8J rs4 replicas with there 225/40 goodyear F1 GSD3 wheels and fitted them yesterday, the clearance on the front brakes is tight 2mm (the pads are 90% new) but they went on fine!

They came with new studs perfectly balanced and a free looking nut set . and the centers are the raised embossed ones rather than the stickers.
£620 from http://stores.ebay.co.uk/AUTOSPORT-Carstyling. it wasnt a standard package but i asked and it was no problem for them to source the goodyears.

Despite only having 50 miles on them they are already grippier than my Walani's - so im hopeful that when they are scrubbed they will perform well. The side walls are definately stiffer than the no name tyres though as low spped ride is worse on broken surfaces.

The ET35's on mine are a bit close too - noticed this before, but yesterday to cure my squeeky brakes I put copper grease on the backs of the pads - put the wheels back on and they were jammed hard against the caliper.

A press of the brakes pulled the calipers back in and all was well. I'm thinking of putting some 5mm spacers on, as I'm not too keen on this situation.
