Who said that? Im sure they should be able to take an M5 no problem unless theres something Im not aware of.

A new RS4 has problems with the new M5. The new M5 is considerably faster. But with the torque on a real road, playing with an M5 you should see yourself leaving it behind, Not for dust. But youll definitely have the edge with 500 horses and all that torque.

M5 with chip 540bhp, in a drag The m 5 will win. Stock M5 will be same as rs4 470 bhp.
M5 is smg'd and 7 speed (big problem for b5!) This makes it super quick.
I have played with such a car and yes its big and clever and on a fast track its an awesome beast. Spa for instance.

Now in the tighter circuits the M5 is not as quick and in the wet its bye bye M5.

How about an S4 with dropped compression, 2 * 2.75 decatted exhaust, hybrids, single mass clutch, ceramic/tubular manifolds, strengthened rods and also RS4 heads. and a great custom remap seeing 600HP ish.

How would an M5 compare against that spec?

Would be interested to see where the 500hp S4 (S4 heads dropped compression) would start losing on a drag with the chipped M5. Id estimate probably after 140 mph

I did reply to this post?? Seems it never showed up. I am having trrouble with my connection at the mo so sorry guys!

Latest is the car has been mapped to an estimated 430ish... dissapointing to say the least, but not much more can be extracted because of the downpipes/exhaust setup. Spose it give me something to look forward to, but it makes a rather large bill seem pointless :(

Have I got the car? Sadly not! The brakes were left till last and it turns out the RS4 B7 disc setup does not work with my wheels. If MRC had managed to do this while waiting on parts I would have been driving around this evening with the worlds greatest grin, but unfortunately all the little niggles were left till last. With a bit of luck the RS6+ discs will come in tomorrow and they can fit them. That way I get the car tomorrow evening, maybe Friday... but the way things have been going with parts etc and delivery dates... who knows what may happen.

I shall go cry myself to sleep now!

To make you feel better, I worked out that my car has been in the Garage, in total, for over 2 years!!! LOL! this is all the times it has gone away, with loads of RS4 parts being on back order and taking months to come in, plus me being miles away from the car, so no point collecting until all was resolved!

Bad luck with the exhaust, but, as you say this can be another mini ish project for the new year ...

Down pipes - 8)

Were you told that you would get 500bhp with what you have/they've done? If so, to be down 70bhp on there 'quoted' figure doesn't sound good for MRC....

The cost of a cutom exhaust is not really a lot of money by my standards, and is insignificant to your other bill I imagine. Why not get the exhaust sorted before you collect - or do you really need the transport?

As Julian say's outstanding and creative post, late entry for the RS246 2006 Humour Awards, however definitely in with a chance there!
