Brilliant... I think I will actually do this...

I wish we could get mats that were curled at all edges like a dish so that sand & stones would not roll off then under the mat.

Yup. I'm off to tescos tonight. I've got sand all over my carpets from the astro turf last night.... and mud and stuff from the mechanics last week

I just called up VAGParts. The guy down the end of the line was a very nice and friendly chap, who said the N710's are from the Audi TT - is this the correct 1 I want?

Also, re the vacum hoses - he said that these are sold in 1 straight 3mm metre long, cloth covered pipe. Again, is this what I need?

Another Free Mod:

Use Vagcom to adjust the Central locking so that:

1) Windows can be closed and opened together using the keyfob
2) Alarm Beeps on successful arming
3) Doors lock automatically at 10-15mph
4) Drivers door unlocked before the rest of the car

First thing I played with when getting the Vagcom :)

I think you can also tweak it so one press opens drivers door only, then another (within a second) opens the others and boot. Maybe useful if you suspect someone is hiding behind your bin and will run out and jump in your passenger side or boot

I think that was number 4 David. Have my girlfriends Golf configured like that out of choice, but annoys me so not for the Audi.

Both our cars are set to lock the doors once moving, had that on my BMW via a Clifford alarm and on my last two Mercs so couldn't be without. Sensible feature IMO.

I have tried to figure out how to do this, but got confused when reading it on the web. Something about adding numbers to another blah blah... seems like I am likely to c0ck it up.

I read it too quick in excitement because I thought I could add something of value to the thread    Actually, for some reason, I thought he meant it opened first on switching off......Image

This site has some good info and a utility you can download to aid the recoding of the Central Locking:

http://www.wak-tt.com/vagcom/vagcomclcoding.htm

It's for a TT but is the same on our cars.
