Errr think you need to read what i said again......

I.e my car cost me £550, so is better vfm than an S4 costing £10k, if an S4 could be bought for £550, then yes it would be much better than my Rover, but they can't, so bang for buck/vfm my Rover is better.

Same goes for if i could buy a Rover vitesse tomorrow for 10k or an S4 for 10k, the S4 would be a much better buy in every way.

Is the S4 10- 20 faster than my Rover, no, is 10 times more economical than my Rover, no.

I guess you get blinkered people/fan boys on every forum...

I had a rover 620ti, was a good laugh, cost me £1k a few years ago and for a first car I cant complain. 195 ponies to amuse myself with, electric half leather seats bla bla bla sod all insurance and nobody wanted to steal it or vandalise! perfect! you get what you pay for though, and the S4 is great dispite having its niggles like every other car.

Whoaaa.

As a statement he is quite correct. 200bhp for £ 550 compared with 265bhp for say £ 7,000. So tahts £ 2.75 per bhp for the Rover compared with £ 26 per bhp. Do he's quite right.

Still wouldn't have one though.

I find that such a stupid statement. Everyone on this site must think the same. Get real. There is nothing wrong with the statement Austin made.

The mentatility of that statement is much the same as that of the Rover boys on in the previous link, that we were all laughing at! LMAO.

Mine is a post march 96 car, so came fitted with the metal Klinger head gasket :D

I think it's the original at 139k, (touches wood)

They tend to weep oil if anything, but the k series are the ones prone to blowing head gaskets.

Just read the link...........brilliant, love it. I certainly won't be looking out for those chaps (think of all that YTS money waisted on petrol).

My pops had a Rover 2000 (MY77)....I seriously thought it was the big brother of the Fezza Daytona)
