What's your current mileage?

Post by Ads4 » Thu Nov 16, 2006 3:10 pm

This site is a great source of knowledge and experience, so thanks guys! I've even e-mailed Doug to get the ball in motion for the MRC400 treatment-can't wait! Ooops, I digress...what I'd like to know is peoples current mileage and any probs anyones had with up-grading an S4 with high mileage. I've got 96k on the clock-is it wise to keep tuning?

The 2.7 block/heads is bulletproof. All problems centre on the K03s and when you up the boost with a remap you could be shortening the life of them. How this will affect you is anyones guess - there are plenty who have run on a remap for 100k miles + without trouble. Almost all on here will say go and do it.

For the record im one of the few who hasnt done the remap. Clock showing at present on 72k and iv had for 15k miles with no issues at all apart from a new aux. water pump which are prone to failure. Just servicing ,tyres, and brakes. thats all.

Id say book your spot at MRC.

My mileage is just short of the 90k mark. I've done an MRC custom re-map, and am looking to do some more mods when finances allow me to. I'm also saving for the KO4's :D

Just under 62k at the moment, just had cambelt service and 10k sevice done at dialynx, Very good service and very friendly will definatly use them again. Keith asked me what chip i was running but i am stock as far as i know. He said it seems fast for a stock and is running spot on :D .

Just out of intrest what boost should i be running stock, ill get a boost gauge on it and confirm what im running.

Im abit weary about modding even though i want to but cant afford to replace turbos if they go.

One second! I've just realised something... Is Doug offering the MRC 400 as a package? Or, even the MRC 500?

If so, HOW MUCH DOUG??? :D

Sorry, to digress from the topic in question

After 6 months of S4 ownership goodness, I've just rolled over 31K Miles. After less than 500 miles in my hands I gave in to the MRC way. Fingers crossed for the engine's overall longevity. I can now stop due to Posrche 993 turbo 4 front brakes which was an issue more likely to end the cars life IMO.

Woolfman, you got the right car, in the right style, in the right colour... Shame about the bike though :P

Just turning 78k miles, 4 weeks into ownership so far and very happy despite few minor issues! Heres to many more miles of happy motoring.. :beerchug:
There are 2 tools you need in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape.
If it moves and it should'nt, use the Duct Tape
If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40
