I hate getting under cars
Know what you mean - especially after being lowered. Can't drive straight onto ramps now - have to jack up first then slide the ramps under the wheels.....

Working on these cars can be a right PITA - checked my DVs yesterday and decided they needed re-greasing - even that job had me losing my rag as i couldn't get the fvcking tops off to get to the pistons - ended up attacking them with gas pliers and a hammer!!! :bash:

Cheers for the reply saf. I knew what it stood for, just wasn't sure of the witchcraft that it performed under the car. Think its convinced me so name has been added to the group buy list

Saf what grease do you use for your DV's and apart from getting the tops off, is it pretty straight forward ie: Clean and regrease job done? I have the bailey type!

A little off topic i know sorry

Cheers, They will be dark charcoal/anthracite soon when the weather gets warm again for me to spray them. I like the subtle/ stealth look
Couple of new pics of the brakes on there as well.

Umm....considering i wrote this i guess you're addressing this question to me and not saf???!! :bash:

I use LM (lithium moly) high temperature grease - dead straight-forward; tops off the DVs then grease the outside of the pistons and the inside of the valve, then re-assemble...(as long as you can get the fvckin' tops off! make sure you do them up tight when re-assembling)

My DTS from AutoSpeed has just arrived from the US. Took 6 weeks, 4 e mails and 2 phone calls to chase them. 5 days delivery btw = at least 2 weeks from when they say they've sent it. But if you ask them to mark the delivery note as "Warranty Replacement" as a few of you have said - you don't pay the import duty - the trick did work, and £170 delivered, eventually. Having it fitted on Tuesday along with a s/s... looking forward to driving a completely different car home that day....
drop the hammer...
