Interior door opening handel

Post by s4lover » Thu Nov 02, 2006 9:19 pm

My drivers side interior door opening handel has gone a bit limp, would I need to replace any parts if I take the door panel off or is it just a case of tightening it up somehow ???

Just trying to be prepared as my local Audi dealer carry no parts in stock, take 48 hours to get them and they want pre-payment up front before ordering anything so an hour job can easily take about 4 days :(

They need to be punished

Yes this happened to me a while back now.

You need to replace the whole unit which is the handle complete with the plastic surround tweeter/speaker cover!!!! If i remember correctly it cost around £20 for the part, i used my local Audi specialist.....
Hmmm, its fast but is it fast enough!!!

I need that also. I thinkthe spring has gone.

I opened the door one day and kinda let it flick back and then the srping went. At least I think its a spring.

Its easy to do. Door panel comes of with a few screws. Just where the bit you hold ro open the door. Theres a cover. That comes off, and pop a few screws off there as well as a few on the side on the dorr panel it sel, one down below i think and you just push the whole panel upand disconnect the electrics. All done, swapping the part over. Well ive not done that yet.

I guess ill be ordering the part from audi soon too. I been too lazy to fix it.

My electric windows doesnt go up fully anymore. It comes down but you have to use your hands and rock it back and forth before it will go up. Not sure if this is the motor or if something is stopping it from going up, unless you help it.

Very easy repair the part number you need is 8D2 837 020 A 01C Remove the door card to get to the handle, best bit it is only £15.73 from your dealer.
You may wish to change the cable too this sometimes gets damaged buy hamfisted fitters. Part number 8D0 837 081 Again £5.38 from your dealer.
