Bumper repair dilema .........

Post by s4lover » Sun Nov 05, 2006 12:43 am

After receiving some scraknell from someone elses accident on the motorway my beautiful mint front bumper is now in a bad way.....
so do I let the bodyshop remove and attempt to repair it or do I go RS4 front bumper instead ???

guess the main questions are

what involved in fitting it ? (i.e. will the bodyshop hate me afterwards)

What sort of cost am I looking at for the bits ?

What bits do I need ? (i.e. fog lights, grills, mountings, etc)

where's the best place to buy it from ?

Your valuable input is greatly appreciated......................

Looks promising and is an original bumper modified for you already I think. At least the size is.

Says some minor modifications needed.

to be fair when we inspected clives we couldn't find any evidence that it'd been modified, no plastic welding marks or anything so we're not sure what they'd done to it prior to us fitting it to clives

If I am right in thinking Clive bought his from Mark then all that was done was that the bumper was heated up with a hot air gun and then the ends were pushed in so that they matched the S4 wings rather than the flared RS4 ones. Took quite alot of messing about to get it right I believe.

Yes, that's basically what Mark told me, although he said there was some cutting involved too...

There's an RS4 bumper up for grabs on ebay right now. I haven't looked at it in detail but it seems OK. Only things it needs are the fogs and grills.
01 RS4, Milltek, Dahlback Racing rears, RS6 fronts and a few bits to be added.

Also, as I hate driving, my toy to play with - a Honda CBR F Sport
