Focus guys...

My post clearly says - a CLEAN install using a standard colour, no stickers, whooshy dumpy things or anything. Simply an install of the front bumper - done classy - I think it really could update the look of the A4.

Lets all face it... from here we have nothing to go to. The RS4 (new) is well out of our price range and the S4 is just too slow. THe B5 has everything going for it but its dated appearance! Its still gorgeous dont get me wrong, compare it to E36 beemers etc - it has aged VERY well... but it is ageing none the less!

but its still a con. Doin that is no better then grafting an e46 beemer on to the front of an e36, and Nearly as sad as those MR2 ferrari reps that you see. Theres no need to try and update the car like that, just keep it clean and a couple of subtle bits here and there and itll look sorted. I saw a mint condition all original e30 M3 in red a bit ago and it looked amazing. All it had were a set of deep highly polished BBS split rims on it (not the standard ones) been waxed to death, and although you could argue it looked dated, it still had loadsa of presence and was just nice to look at.

Although the B5/B7 golden dog turd jobbie is a case of how customisation can go badly wrong ,the B5 does need serious help to keep it trim - the lines are beginning to show.

One of my first posts on here over ayear ago was getting opinions on an auptic kit. Never heard of them before or since but still think the front end is a vast improvement http://www.mediactiv.ch/auptic/galerie.html . Theres deffo an underlying unease with a few B5ers (including me) that theres room for improvement.

I must agree the RS4 front stil has huge sex appeal - but the problem of course is that it is not a direct fit. I have not really heard any good reviews on reps that are flying around out there.

Had it switched at a local dealer on my insurance, but he said the fit was straight bolt on. And very easy to work with. It was pretty cheap too.

Do we in the UK have to have the headlamp wash working for MOT with Xenons? If for some reason it wasn't fitted... would the car pass and MOT?

for MOT the headlamp washers need to work IIRC. Mine were checked anyhow...
