Driving technique

Post by TurkS4 » Mon Apr 07, 2003 5:07 pm

Gents,

I order to get the most of the accelerion in the car, is it adviseable to gradually accelerate, or 3/4 throttle or to the floor?

Just trying to get the full thrill out of me new purchase!!!

I always use gradual acceleration. The ECU definitely does have a WOT detection algorithm, in order to protect the drivetrain from shock. If you activate this algorithm then it will <beep> acceleration. The 3/4 throttle you hear about is precisely the way to avoid it. However how you manage to put your foot down exactly 3/4 is beyond me. That's why I just apply gradual pressure. Of course I have the advantage of a boost gauge so I can use it to determine my peak boost rather than just relying on the pedal!
