fresh paint

hi guys,

i'm after some advice regarding my newly painted bumpers wings and bonnett please,

i wanted to make the car look top condition, and luckily we have an vw/audi enthusiast who has his own sprayshop.

his work has always been first class and has an awesome eye for detail. once again he pulled out all the stops!

my question is that being new paint(about 4 weeks old now) how can i get the depth back into the paintwork, or will this just come back the more i polish it?

6 weeks for paint before you polish .......

^ You can polish immediately the paint hardens. You shouldn't seal though for 6 wks (as in wax)

Ppl often mix the two up

any excuse not to wash the car Amanda..!

i never new about the 6 week rule, so thanks for that, i get two more weeks off car cleaning then, so looks like the lawn will be getting its first cut!

This is a sticky point this....1 for using a wax that is 100% natural ingredients you should be able to wax it straight away as these natural ingredients would allow what ever plant it came off to breath hence leaving it free to protect paintwork....however seldom do i recommend waxing for the first 4 weeks.....

95% of the solvents in the paint will have been released as soon as the paint has been cured in the oven....the other 5% will take about a week or so but the safe bet is a few weeks....on the other hand if you want to protect straight away with no issues use Permanon Supershine....allows to breath and is sterling at protection....

But the question is how you can bring the depth back and that is done by machine/hand correction and then get a proper layer or 2 of Raceglaze 55 slapped on it....pure genius....
