New Audi Paint Sealant

Hi chaps but just like to say that a contact of mine who manufactures vehicle cleaning products has just released a Ceramic Coating that is of his own doing and not re-bottled and relabelled....it has since been introduced into Audi Stafford and as is the quality of this coating it comes with a "not too over the top" guarantee of 2yrs but should outlast that....

So anyone who is looking at buying a new Audi and you get offered this sealant then i would highly recommend this is done either at the dealership or arranged through here...or if you wanted it applying on your existing then feel free to get in touch with me....there are authorised applicators of this throughout the UK that I can recommend if you wanted to use a detailer other than myself....

I think that my mate has just booked you to detail and apply Ceramishield(?) to his black BMW M6.
Is this the product you are talking about?
I'm really looking forward to seeing the results.

Serious question here. What's the point of these 1-2 or more year products when (as Im told) a vehicle should be detailed twice a year; 1 corrective (if it needs it) and 1 protective over the winter? To me it seems counterintuitive that you'd want to promote this kind of thing.

I guess what Im saying is doesnt it make sense from a simple revenue perspective that you use products with a longevity no more than 6-8 mths, that way you'd get 4 major details and maintenance work over a 2 year stretch rather than 1 ceramishield and maintenance work for the same period?

Im genuinely intrigued.

Certainly understand what your saying from a revenue perspective but ceramic coatings offer the protection first and foremost that no other can match, whether you choose to add a wax to it then totally the choice of the client....the 2 yr protection is a good amount of time to keep from UV rays and road salts etc, it also offers scratch resistance which gives a piece of mind when maintaining the car yourself....regarding the twice a year thing the corrective detail can be carried out and ceramic applied, this will protect for the stated time but it will still need to be treated for winter as what these coatings cannot do is stop contamination from holding onto it, what it does give though is the option to have a Summer look to the car all year round but with ultimate protection....in the long run over 2 yrs it saves the client money....and to me thats what its about....yes I like to earn money from this and is counter productive as you say but most importantly for me customer satisfaction comes first and a rapport built up between myself and client is the best form of advertising....a detailer that doesnt want to rip people off....surely not....by offering 1 day enhancements that fill not remove is not really my cup of tea....a quick example is an enhancement can be done on an RS4 in about 8-10hrs and will cost roughly £350 from most RESPECTABLE detailer....yes i offer them but all it does is 1 hit with a light pad and polish, fill with glaze and then wax, about 50% corrective work if your lucky....bit of a con if you ask me, so why do i offer them, well just for option, thats it....on the other side of the coin is my minor correction detail, same car £400=16hrs and pretty much bang on 80-85% correction, for a further £50 I dont think you can go wrong....

My philosophy is treat the client how you would expect to be treated and the word about your work, your attitude and your honesty will surely spread....

Ok, thanks for explaining that.

So this ceramishield just sits as a tough base layer to which you can layer waxes etc on top? So a bit like an all surface ventureshield that you can treat the same as paint and so finish with a lsp of your choice?

Seems pretty cool if that's what it is

what it does is layer a hard glass coat around 2 microns thick which gives surface protection as well as the UV protection, doesnt protect against stonechips etc like ventureshield is supposed to but has been tested over 150 times by hand and automatic car wash....but as i say it can be layered with anything you like....

What's the diff with this and the Williams one? Do you know who's avail & approved in Birm or N London to apply this?

Thanks

I'm sure Russ won't mind me posting up a link to his thread on detailing world...http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/s ... ramishield.

I know that he's started today and working on it over the weekend.

I might try and pop over on Sunday to see the results on my mate's car 'in the flesh'.
