Hi all :bigwave:

Had the pleasure of carrying out an enhancement detail to another B7 RS4 for a Forum Member, this time a Saloon in Phantom Black, very nicely spec'd with the Black Optics and with a very scarce half leather option

On inspection was covered in dust/rain fallout and general road film from being as used as a daily driver.

Aim was to protect and restore some colour to the paint as was looking a little dull and gray.

Products Used

Espuma G202 APC
MagiFoam Snow Foam
ONR
Iron X
Tardis
yellow poly clay
Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Strong
Espuma Revolution
Espuma Fabricare
Espuma Fresh
PERL
Menzerna 203 & 3M Yellow Pads
Reload

Some pictures on arrival

G202 APC applied on all the lower parts of the car, mirrors, bonnet to tackle the bugs and grime.

Image

MagiFoam Snow Foam - left to dwell for approx 20 mins whilst I went round with detailing brushes using the foam to agitate areas etc.

Obligatory arty foam shot...

All badges, trim, window rubbers, grills, door handles etc agitated using the foam

Wheels cleaned using the foam

G202 used to give the tyres a scrub

Loving this brush for its flexibility, the tight places it can get in, very handy on the RS4 with the small caliper clearance.

Foam then rinsed and washed with ONR.

With the wash phase over it was time for decontamination; Tardis, IronX, Clay, ONR as lube and final rinse.

Following the final rinse and with the car dry, it was onto the shuts and interior, followed by the engine bay.

Then was Menz 203s on yellow pad followedby an IPA wipedown and LSP of choice was CarPro Reload with PERL for the trim.

Apologies for lack of photos of some of the stages, didnt have a camera man so was on auto-pilot of getting the bits done. Weather couldnt makeitsmind up today again, so was also concious that at any point it was going to pour down as it did on yesterdays detail, so it was head down.

Afters

Quick tidy up inside, nothing major required

Interior; PERL and Fabricare with G202 used to clean pedals and shuts

Rare half leather option

Image

G202 for general cleaning; Werstatt Prime on Carbon, PERL everywhere else

Wheels polished with Werkstatt Prime, sealed with Reload, tyres with PERL

Pics really dontdo justice as was really overcast and dull :( refelction shots came out better

My engine bay definitely needs a clean, but I am very hesitant to put a hose in there. How did you do this one?

Did you just use the cleaning products and no water as such?

Any advice is much appreciated. I enjoy being a Bufty

Superb job, looks so menacing in black. Not seen the half leather half cloth interior before, i rather like it, does not look to wear as bad as leather. Top Job :beerchug:

I don't think a hose is a good idea, simply because of the vol of slow moving water if you get what I mean. A good pressure washer on low or decent pump sprayer is prob a better choice. Use some overshoes and/or tape to cover sensitive areas and then give it a scrub with a good APC (medium dilution). Dry off by letting the engine run and wipe down as soon as poss afterwards with some dressing
