Hi all
As some of you may know I am looking to develop the
'Miles Better' Brand, with
Miles Better Products and supply other detai l product brands also.
So, I am currently Speaking to lots of manufacturers, suppliers/ ditsributors etc to source some quality deta iling products that will enable me to put together and supply 'Deta il Kits' / 'Care-Packs' to include with all details to maintain the finish, as well as all those wishing to maintain their own cars. I am also looking to source products from leading detai ling brands/ suppliers to resell if there would be demand.
I understimated just how much effort it would be, I am nearly there though as only want to source the best and supply products that are quality and have been tested first hand thoroughly in my own deta il before accepting them and endorsing them. I will only ever supply products I use myself.
Many of the products I have sourced will be recognised as the same as leading brands, many are just private/labelled and I have managed to negotiate a supply under my own label.
I will add to this thread some pics and details of products to gauge interest.
Please add a comment if there are any products you would be interested in.

I am definitely interested Steve. My products of choice to start with would be: nilfisk washer with lance, snow foam, detail brushes, arch brushes, APC, a form of trim glitz, Tar remover Iron X , Sealant and some of those botles to apply the APC etc. I think I have done enough reading of your threads to get a grasp of what to do and when.

Im in!
Although, I'm not sure there's a business case for having MB branded gear. The other indys in the field who have developed a recognisable standing only seem to have two or three items of their own and it's usually stuff like towels. PB's Project Awesome is the only real item of note from an indy I've seen; although recently Paul Dalton seems to be plugging his own as well.

Hi all
On looking into this further, this just seem a bit too much for me to bite off at the moment and its just doesnt seem to stack up to be viable really
I feel people can be better served by the already established online traders/ retailers, as the thing I would struggle with is the order packing, shipping and then the issues maybe of lost parcels, things leaking in the parcels, things getting broken and refunds etc, so I just dont think I am geared up for that side of things.
But I am looking at maybe supplying some stuff with the work I do, so when I place an order I will order a few more towels, products and sprayers etc and then can leave a small maintenance kit to keep you going post detail.
Of course there is a huge, huge range of products and its knowing what to use and when x is more suited or y best fits a given task and so it can all be a bit bewildering and almost too much choice.
So what I plan to do, is to start a post of all the current Group Buys, offers and other products available at any time from other forums and traders, that I rate and feel happy to endorse and promote for the person organising the GB, as I am just not geared up right now to supply these products myself, but will happily steer you through the minefield, sort of like a trusted advisor and the 'Miles Better' Seal/ Stamp of Approval. Plus I only ever promote what I would use myself/ do use myself, eating your own dog food think its called
In my detai ling threads I will link back (if allowed) to where the products can be bought and what i use in scenario x or y.
Everyone's mileage will vary with different products and for everybody loving a product, there will be another person disappointed with it.
There are of course many, many products from many, many different brands and manufactures out there, so these are just what I have found work for me.
Thanks for all the interest and support, right now I just think its a little more work than I can commit to taking on.
Regards,
Steve Miles

Fair enough Steve - good that you have realised this before getting too embroiled with it.

Fair play Steve, probably for the best. I would still happily buy a bulk load from you at marked up prices than go to different suppliers for different products. PM me if you want.

I will probably see what small runs of products I can offer and capitalise on bulk buy where I can. Things like the detai ling brushes, drying towels, microfibre cloths, applicatots may be able to sort relatively simply without too much admin overhead where no other better deals exist and I see an opportunity. i.e. I was offered some well known MFs (that get branded by SV, then marked up) and drying towels direct from the wholesaler at good prices, but I have to buy a case of 50 minimum, if we all had 3 each that would need about 16 people then theres vat and delivery to me, then packing materials and postage out to all so will have to look at the maths and see how it stacks up. If I can do some smaller dealers will do
