Miles Better Vs Dannyrs4 Supercharged RS4 Beast

Post by steve_70 » Sun Feb 20, 2011 11:21 pm

Evening all :D

The topic of this weekends detail that I was very privileged to do was Dannyrs4's Supercharged Beast...I am sure Danny or this car need no real introduction 8)

Danny wanted it looking its best for its 'Audi Driver Magazine - RS4 Buying Guide' Photoshoot, after some period of time in the workshop, so was happy to oblige and with the hope to see my detail in print (even if it was just the engine bay detail)

See the Last pictures forthose that mader the magazine :thumb:

Process & Products in a nutshell....

* Foamed with Espuma Activo - Nilfisk Washer / AB Foam Lance
* Whilst foam dwells - clean badges, trim, grills, window rubbers with envy erushes using the foam
* Rinsed
* Wheels and arches cleaned with variety if brushes, Vikan and Envy brushes were good for this. Wheels - Espuma Revolution & Arches Espuma G202.
* Wheels finished off with Espuma Revolution, tardis, IronX
* Badges, trim, handles, rubbers, grills finished off with G202 and envy brushes.
* Wash with ONR and ONR in sprayer as qd/ drying aid, wipe down with Large Blue Fluffy AB Towels & Blue Fluffy Eurow towels.
* Body and wheels decomtaminated with IronX, Tardis
* All shuts, boot bonnet, doors cleaned with APC through sprayer, agitated with envy brushes
* Engine detailed with G202, various brushes and cloths used, dressed with Aerospace 303 protectant.
* All Black Trim dressed with VP Dionysus Trim Glitz - applied with foam pad and buffed.
* All shuts, glass cleaned/ polished and sealed with Jeffs Acryllic Prime Strong.
* interior vacumed and brushed with various detail and stiff brushes; cleaned with G202 and hard plastics dressed with Espuma Dasheen; interior glass Espuma Crystal Glass Cleaner; Carpets and matts with Espuma Farbricare; Leather cleaned and dressed with Dr Leather Wipes; Pedals cleaned with G202 and detail brushes. Espuma Fresh fragance used as de-oderiser.
* Car was clayed with Yellow Polly Clay with ONR as Lube, although following Tardis and IronX this was almost a redundant stage as clay didnt remove much remaining surface contaminant
* Paint corrected using Menz Polish and Pads with a DA
* Paint Cleaned and LSP was Jeffs Wekstatt Acryllic, topped with Colinite 845 for some added protection as the owner was drivng it back to scotland.
* Finally wheels/ tyres/ arches dressed with Chemical Guys Bare Bones, Espuma RD50, Jeffs Acryllic Prime Strong, Colinite 845.

So, on with the pictures....

Thanks, fixed 8) ...I had about 300 photos before I thinned them down. I have a (new to me) D-SLR so learning how to use it still, so maybe some pictures are not best and doesnot do it justice

Yes, IronX must be my product og the year or century, its made claying almost (not quite) redundant 8)

Cheers 8) ...Maybe theny should pay me comnmiccion for IronX sales

Seriously though, this product is amazing and use it now on all my details. The way it cleanses paint and alloys through removing contaminants in the paint is truly amazing, its as though it really open the paint pores up like a sponge and after you have applied to body (with a nitt or sponge like a shampoo) and rinse then the rinse water turns dark purple for ages wven when tou cant physcically see anything to the human eye, it just keeps leaching dirt. I think this is where so much of the Flake pop comes from, in the cleansing of thr paint and the muting of the flake that probably normally occurs. I am buying this in litres now

....as above re the flake, think that comes down to paint decontamination with IronX and Paint cleansing.
