S8 Stonechip Repair Pics

My car is pretty immaculate but the stone chips on the front bumper really let it down, there are hundreds of them on the front bumper and they really bug me. So I decided enough was enough. I looked on the internet and saw other people had done it without damaging anything so set about ordering the paint from Audi, I'm not going to get into how useless they are here but they finally got the right one on the fourth attempt after some months. They tried to blame it on my cars 'Audi exclusive' colour.

So first of all I started filling out the stone chips, I used a c o c ktail (forum thought I was being rude so had to space the word :D) stick on some of them. This took ages and left my arms aching as my bumper was completely covered in them. Its pretty hard work. Left to dry overnight and then wetsanded using Meguairs 2500 unigrit. This parts scary but don't worry as it all comes off fairly easily with a G220 and a shot of Menz IP.

I only had time to do one half of the car and the difference is unreal, one half looks like its been freshly repainted and the other looks like its from a 100k plus miler (which it is). Going to be working some killer hours now, but next Monday I am free again and should be able finish it off.

The results should speak for them self...

Wet sanding (Yes, this was quite scary!):

I didn't get a proper after pic, so it looks better now but this was during:

Looks really good. You must have a lot of patience mate?
Are you putting a lacquer on top?

Hi, not well at the moment as my gearbox has just packed up and its now gone to a specialist. I will update upon completion.
I haven't used any lacquer, I am using the Audi touch up paint kit. Any other questions, please ask. :)
