Hi

Just read a thread where wire wool and Autosol was used on a S3 exhaust. Anyone else done this? Is it safe to do this?

Cheers.

Yes, i've used Wire Wool and Autosol on my Milltek and it came up well when it was looking in a bad way.

Just make sure you use varying grades of wire wool, as the coarser stuff will leave scratches, but the finer stuff won't remove the worst of the gunk.

I only needed to do this once. I now use Silvo to maintain clean pipes.

Silvo is what Miltek advise to use - can be found in supermarkets

With the fine wirewool 0000 (the really fine stuff), one word of advice never cut it quickly with a razorblade....

Sparks than rather rapidly catches fire....i'm speaking from experience, nearly set the garage alight after trying to slice some off a big roll!!!
