Alacantra Bubbling

I have the B7 RS4 in exclusive trim which means half the seats and door cards are an off white alacantra material. The problem is both front seats (bum area) have started to bubble and look quite naff.
Could someone please suggest what I should do or what product would be best.
I have been told I could use a razor blade??? or a Remmington Fuzz Away. Before I try the latter option I thought I would ask if anyone else has had the same problem or better still a cure!
Thanks in advance!

I have used a razor blade on mine. Just dragged the blade across the seat gently. Made a really good job. Just don't press too hard.

think you need a car upholstery expert, ask your local audi dealer who they would use. Hope it worked out ok.

this has happened on my RS6 and when i spoke to a upholsterer he informed me the bubbling is telling you the fabric is wearing out and the only real solution is to replace the section that is bubbling.

Can someone explain what you mean by running a razor blade across the leather please? I'm getting some bubbling so I'd be keen to know how to do this fix before I resign myself to getting the section re-done. Ta.

Not the leather mate, just the alcantara!! Get a stanley knife blade and gently drag it across the seat where the bubbling is. It will in-a-fashion shave the bobbles off

I have done my steering wheel and gear knob with normal upholstery cleaner for seats and carpets, this gets all the dirt and grease build up off, after that my alcantara steering wheel etc were left with bobbles so got a JML fuzz away thing from wilko's on it and it looks like new,the sort of shaver thing you use on clothes is very good.
