F**king to55ers! - How to get red paint off a black car!!

Post by Russboy » Thu Sep 25, 2008 5:29 pm

I parked my car in some spaces near the pub as I havent got my own parking space. Parked it there on Tue as due to my birthday I have been drinking a bit, and of course not driving. Go to the car today to be greeted with this:

Initial reaction was, tosser! I know one of the people who lives in the 4 flats and she would have no prob letting me use her space as she doesn't have a car. Also considered writing a reply along the lines of "As you do not have any notices saying vehicles can be clamped when parked here, if you were to clamp my car it would be illegal and considered criminal damage. My words may sound a little harsh but a simple note saying please do not park in my space, would have been a lot more neighbourly!"

Anyway, decided to leave it for now as after all they know what car I drive and may decide to be petty and take it out on the car!

So I carried on about my business, getting the dogs in the car to take them up to the downs for a walk.

When I was up there I glanced at the passenger side to be greeted with this:

went home and washed it off:

Apart from the paint on there, there is a fair bit of scuffing and a small dent, but my mate should be able to sort that for me.

After 30 mins working with Meguiars Scratch X:

So i've managed to get most of it out (the white lines are reflections) but does anyone know of anything a bit stronger, or just generally better than scratch x? Also anyone local got the time, euipment and know how to mop it so hopefully a lot of the final scuff marks and scratches might be worked out?

Cheers,

Russ

Try claying it with a medium to high strength clay that should get it off. If u do make sure u use plenty of lube as it could cause marring which will need correcting with a machine polisher

You never leave your car unattended then? sleep in it do you?

Dodgy ground, 20 secs walk from my front door and on private property, which I have now confirmed i'm allowed to park on. But could just as likely have have in any car park or any road, where it was parked has no relevance.

As a man who constantly has people parking on my frontage i can sympathise with the person who put the sign on your car, however the twit who messed your car up needs a slap, but i would still be weary as where to leave a vehicle if its not my propert and even if you say that you had permission from the flat owner, the other flat owners my not have known this and had reason to put said notice upon your car.

Thing is I think only 3 of the flats are occupied and there is always at least one space there. Office personel from the accountants 2 doors down park there, even when there is space in their own car park.
