Ultimate Detailing Machine

Post by Tomson » Mon May 12, 2008 9:21 pm

Well finally after what seemed like an age, I managed to spend a day with my car and the ultimate detailing machine I purchased before Christmas.

I washed the car once and then used the clay bar; I then washed the car again and dried it off with a microfibre towel.

I then set to work using the machine.

The first pass was with the Sonus SFX-1 cleaning/cutting wax/cream or whatever you want to call it. This was buffed off by hand. TBH I would have preferred a slightly heavier cutting compound as there were still some light scratching in the surface.

I then used Klasse all-in-one polish which I buffed off with the machine.

To finish I used the machine with P21-s and buffed by hand.

It took all day and I barely got time to clean the wheels and exhaust, I was also hoping to liquid leather the interior. But time ran out and there were bikes (BSB/WSB) to be watched.

Here are a few pictures...

Not bad for nearly 180K Miles

The only thing I need to decide now is whether to put back on my summer wheels? I left them off last year -but to be honest the summer was <beep> <beep>

Any thoughts?

Centre caps painted to match, and leave the 'winters' on - IMO of course :)

LOL, next you'll tell me there's a special cleaning fluid for wheel arch liners that costs an arm and a leg, and the local cats (well, they're probably the only thing that can see it) approve of the quality of finish!

Nige, time alone with my car is rare, I've had the fecking machine for nearly 6 months!

Although the next time we cann sneak a day together I am going to clean and polish all the BBS spokes and the inside of the whells, take of the standard rims and polish them before they are packed away and clean and polish the suspension and the inner arch liners.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I should get out more?
