Direction of polishing?? back and forth or circular motions?

Im goin to do the meguires 3 stage polish and wax on saturday (weather prevailing) am goin to use the applicator pad i got with some nxt wax, should i use circular motions or just rub back and forth in straight lines to prevent paint swirls????? cheers, scott

U will find that swirls are mostly caused by the washing process. DO NOT USE A SPONGE! thats the main thing that will cause swirls. Use a microfibre wash mit. With regards to your question i would use circular motion.

if there's already swirls, you're aiming to fill/smooth them, adn they'll be all angles. Being careful not to trap anything else under there, that'd be another vote for "more swirls".

Back and forth, side to side...straight lines only PLEASE!

All washing, polishing and waxing/sealing activities MUST be done with a staright line motion. Doing "round and round" whether washing or whatever on paint WILL cause swirls (and tears!)
