Hi
Since I moved down from the Midlands to Milton Keynes, my car does not seem to have the same shine as before after washing
Will the 'hard' water leave a dull finish?
Cheers.

Yes. I put a valve in so that I can feed soft water from my water softener directly to my external tap for car washing.

Think you will find he was being serious!
As a result of the hosepipe ban, I have recently installed a water butt to collect the rainwater from my house roof, this is naturally soft water and I have been using it lately for rinsing the car off - leaves a really good finish with no water marks at all!
Well worth it!

just get an in-line water softener on your hose or get a Flash car wash thingy from Halfords - works a treat

Yes I was being serious. I'm moving house soon and need to put a new water softener in - and I'll do the same there.

Cool, i'll look into that then
I've also noticed that my screen wash bottle looks a bit furry around the rim where I fill it up and spill the water/screen wash.

failing that - get an aqua gleam inline filter. works brilliantly.
