Swissol ~ 4 Seasons in 1 day!

Post by SteveH » Sun May 21, 2006 9:42 pm

Dave (absolute legend  ) has literally just finished working his majic after battling with the elements all day. Took 12 hours and needless to say with the other postings on the site from Damon, the result is absolutely award winning. Its almost a crime to drive it now, it should be on a show stand somewhere...

A couple of pictures should be below, they don't do it justice though, you've got to see it to believe it :D ; taken after we dropped the marquee/gazebo thing (that I kindly borrowed as the clouds loomed this morning) that managed to just about keep the occasional deluge off Dave although I insisted that he had a breather when it got to the stage of huugggeee hail stones thundering down  :(

As you can see in the photo's it was starting to go very dark as the car was finished, and no word of a lie, Photo 2 was taken about 15 seconds after Photo 1 as we ran into the house!!! It was a very good demonstration of the wonders of Swissol as the water just sheened off...

Nice one Dave :D and once again, sorry for the horrendous weather

Very nice.. I do hope he can make it here, but the weather is looking like it will ruin things. Any more pictures Steve? Interested to see more of that finish in ebony black! Oh and can you hire those Insta-tents?

Sorry, no more photo's really... spent most of the time making gallons of coffee and trying to help Dave keep the car as dry as possible. Don't know if you can hire a tent thing, but to be honest it would probably be as cheap to buy one from somewhere like B&Q or Argos, even if you only use it the once!? Without it we would have been stuffed today.

Can't wait to see it in the sun now its finished, best get my sun glasses ready! as when we had a few glints of the sun today through the clouds it looked astonishing and that was mid-process. Good Luck Bob (& Dave of course).

Well Spotted, they certainly are very clean indeed, will have to avoid using the brakes now and use 100% engine breaking instead so that they stay that way!

I'm sure Dave wont mind me sharing this top-tip... He didnt take the wheels off, he simply uses a Tesco toilet brush with Viro-Sol de-greaser/cleaner: http://www.cloverchemicals.com/prod_cat/virosol.htm

I've contacted them and they have told me of their nearest supplier ~ bargain at under £6 for 5 litres as you use 1 part for 10 parts water!

Great tip! I read about that product somewhere else, but your pictures really show the proof is in the pudding! Ordered two bottles as a result. Thanks mate.

No problem, It was funny showing Dave my range of cleaning products to ask his advice, ended up throwing half of them away!

I've been spending a bit of time on detailing world, and just spent £££ on a whole load of professional cleaning products including an orbital polisher. Let you know how I get on .... just praying for some good weather this weekend !!!

Happy customer comments - just what I like to hear! Thanks Steve :D

Has to be chalked down as one of must challenging jobs, wouldn't have managed without the garden gazebo...a day-saver without a doubt. It got no better after I left you either. 2 days in N. Notts and I pulled the plug and came home.
Satnav managed to get wet and won't work now, sole came off one of my shoes and scariest of all, my little vac cleaner electrocuted me and melted! So, back in sunny Scotland drying out and waiting for a few sunshine symbols for the South of England weather map before venturing down again!

None-the-less; good to meet you, the numerous cups of coffee were very welcome and in a perverse way I enjoyed treating your car (I must need "help" )

Dave

Cheers Dave; drove down south of the Thames last night from Nottingham and could have done with a speedboat instead of a car. Cars were aqua-planing everywhere, saw three new Mercs piled up in seperate incidents, no Audi's... Good Old Quattro! :kissmyrings:

Very nice indeed - had the pleasure of seeing Dave's handy work on Steve's car at the rolling road day - very impressed. The leather looked like it had only been put in new the day before it was that clean and crisp.

Oh and as an aside like the car mats and optics pack - very stealth!!
