Your lucky it is not cooking, I had a roast pheasant smell a few years back, it lasted for a few months as all of the gutts cooked on the radiator.

Had to jet wash the legs off the radiator, not sure where they went because there's nowhere for them to go.
Apart from the grill at the front, its completely sealed.
Oh well!

Yellowhammers are on the RSPB protection list. Oh dear, feeling a bit guilty now.

Don't beat yourself up too much - they are still fairly plentiful. I'm guessing that you were out in the countryside when you collected it, probably in an area of arable farming.

I had exactly the same happen once, bird flew across and never came out the other side, when i stopped off a the garage there it was stuck in the grill legs first lol, a bit minging pulling it out cus it had got wedged in pretty good.
