Re: Meguiars discount
Bushy, if I go for the three stage polish stuff, do I still need to use a claybar? With my previous polishes (gold class wax) I always used the claybar on the rear of the car to take of tar and whatever, but I dropped it on the garage floor.
Im a big claybar fan as it gives that smooth glass like finish.

Re: Meguiars discount
You only need to use the clay bar to get bonded on contaminants really
the stage 1 cleaner should remove tar etc, but it is a case of feeling the surface
You cant beat the glass like feel after clay bar
Cheers

Re: Meguiars discount
Hi,
I'll be ordering some stuff from you soon. I used the 3 stage system for the first time yesterday and all can say is WOW. Owning a red car can be a nightmare with paint oxidation and for years I've been using T-Cut to remove it. This is hard work and doesn't produce very good results. However, the 1st stage of the Meguiars range is amazing!! No more T-Cut for me Top product, I'm converted
Cheers
Steve.

Re: Meguiars discount
Bushy, have already bought the Gold Class Wax so was wondering if I get the 3 stage system do I use the Gold Class instead of stage 3 or do I use after or not at all?
Also while I'm at it any thoughts on using a power polisher rather than by hand as I'm a lazy sod and looking for any short cut I can find!!

Re: Meguiars discount
Using the Gold Class instead of the stage 3 is fine, in fact some people order it that way
As for power polishers, yep why not. THe tip is to find an orbital one not a rotary one. It is possible for a rotary one to cut too much into the surface
Also too much high speed orbital use can "burn" the surface of the paint
I guess what I am trying to say is buy the Meguiars one, I will do you a deal on it at £90, let me know
Cheers

Re: Meguiars discount
I know this post was time ago, but could you offer a bit of advise?
I have an Absolute red S3, and would like to improve the shine/depth and hopefully protect it a bit through the winter. What would you recommend?

Re: Meguiars discount
Hi David
Well depth of shine is brought out by using polish, so to get a great shine I guess I would advise using a seperate polish and wax, as you definitely need to wax afterwards to give long lasting protection
Your choices are either 3 stage consumer range or using the professional range the Medallion is good or alternatively for the best finish use Mirror Glaze Show Car Glaze as the polish topped with Hi tech yellow wax to protect it, this is personally what I use
The only other consideration is whether you need to use a cleaner to remove existing contamination or product
A clay bar gives good results, as does one of the cleaning products, it really depends on the state of the paint work
I hope this helps
Cheers

Re: Meguiars discount
All I've been cleaning my car with is Auto Glym Car Shampoo, then polishing it with Super Resin Polish. Would these products you suggest give a better finish?
As for the condition of the paint, I think its good, except a few tar patches on doors. When you say condition, do you mean rust etc. or shine?
Presuming its ok to continue washing with the shampoo, what would you recommend I buy as I want a really good finish? It will never be a show car, as I use it every day, but I want the best result (within reason).

Re: Meguiars discount
I used to use AutoGlym, but prefer the Meguairs now. Gotta have a lambs wool wash mit and microfibre drying towel . Application pads are great too, so is the terry toweling.
