When is corrosion only 70%

Hi
My S4 (B8) has a couple of small rust spots on the front inner wheel arches. One each side in exactly the same place so probably a big coincidence to be accident damage. The car has never had any bodywork repair or paintwork.
So, took it to an Audi dealer wondering if the 12 year anti-corrosion warranty would kick in. They looked at the car in the workshop, sent their findings to Audi UK who have agreed to cover 70% of costs.
Two issues though -
If it’s corrosion covered by the guarantee why only 70%. Shouldn’t they just fix it.
Secondly, the cost of repair could be anything up to £1800 (worst case if they find they have to replace wings). So I could be expected to contribute anything from possibly £100 to over £500. That seems a lot for what could be just a couple of 5p spots.
Anyone else had any experience of Audi’s anti corrosion guarantee.
By the way the car is a 2009 model with 90k on the clock.
Thanks

Try a different dealer. Audi payed 100% on my mates S3, your 30% is going in the pocket

How about if Audi feels it’s a manufacturing issue they pay up but when it’s not a slam dunk they just make a contribution? I had work done on my previous 11 year old motor and likewise they paid a contribution.

Bit late to reply, sorry, but ended up contributing £400 towards two replacement wings.
All good now but seemed an excessive amount of work for two small patches.
