I don't know bit I've picked up a few recently. Maybe its the angle of the concave rotors making them a stone magnet.

That the front right wheel? Possibly damage from oncoming cars?
The chip in the second pic, that side of the wheel spoke will be facing forward when the spoke is passing top dead centre, and it will do so at twice the speed the car is traveling.
So if you are driving at 60 mph, and a stone off an oncoming car driving at 60 mph hits the front face of the wheel spoke, the impact speed could easily be 180 mph+

A common mis-conception.
If you drive into a wall at 40mph, you will do the same damage as if you have a head on collision at 40mph. It's all about Newton's 3rd law or something. Pretty interesting if you read up about it.
I need to go to specsavers though, I cannot see anything on those wheels! You must be looking through a microscope!

I did I just couldn't be bothered to quote it all. Same logic applies, you don't just add up the speeds of the two projectiles, it doesn't work like that.

If the car is driving at 60 mph, the bottom of the wheel is traveling at 0 mph whilst the top of the wheel is traveling at 120 mph
