RS4 B7 Daytona Grey - My Detailing Progress

Post by Divine » Mon Feb 02, 2015 9:36 pm

This morning I started detailing the interior of my RS. Purchased the car in December and want to give it a good deep clean inside (condition the leather and treat plastics etc).

Interior I have been using a mix of tools. Karcher steam cleaner, APC, gliptone leather cleaner, leather brushes etc.

Although it looked 'clean' to the eye you can see the amount of ingrained dirt in the leather from the microfibre cloths I used.

I will add some clearer progress photos through the week.

I need to do the same on mine. I'm hoping a good steam and lots of gliptone will give me some nice matte leather again :)

Also gave the engine bay some love (wasn't heavily soiled).

Looks really good, I need to do a good steam clean on my seats, makes a huge difference.
Engine is gleaming nicely too!

Nice job! Lovin' the engine bay.

I really need to give my leather a good cleaning, I'm about to buy some Gliptone leather cleaner, would it be worth getting the conditioner as well?

Cheers. Yes, I used both the cleaner and the conditioner. Gives a lovely matte finish once treated.

Thanks, it'll be interesting to see how my seats come up, the leather's starting to show it's age a bit. Yours look like new!

Great results there, the 50/50 shows how shiney the leather gets over time and yours wasn't that bad to begin with.
