Picked up the new "wide greeny" RS4 on Saturday ....well happy...but I can see that silver leather going nasty before long (20 month old daughter & a passion for windsurfing - me that is)...all that salt water on ...

Is there anything I can spray on protect the leather from marks etc?

Cheers
Richard

not really, well I have never come across anything

the most important thing is not to let the leather dry out so regular conditioning should stop that, which in turn should stop the sea salt damaging the natural hide

I can highly recommend the Meguiars leather cleaner, but as yet havent tried their 2 stage treatment of cleaner and then conditioner

I will try it at the weekend and keep you informed

Cheers

Here are a couple pics of my Silver Leather after more than 20k miles of use. I have two little ones and live in a climate that affords wearing shorts a majority of the time ... meaning body/skin oils are in contact with the seating surfaces.

I use Audi's leather cleaning spray, Meguiar's Cleaner/Conditioner and Lexol Cleaner intermitently. Not much more you can do than maintain ... or put on seat covers. ;-)

Tried the 2 stage stuff, wow

I just did half of my back seat with 2 stage and the other half with Gold Class Leather cleaner/cond.

Very impressed!

My car isnt exactly dirty but the 2 stage took out more dirt and makes the leather look much richer in finish and feel

I tried taking a picture but it wasnt worth posting as it looks like a black leather seat, but going to do the full interior tomorrow
