RE: Meguiars Lambs Wool Wash Mitt
i use a halfords lambswool wash mitt now. whether it be halfords, megs or whoever i think a mitt is the way to go, so much easier and less prone to scraching than a sponge

It's off to Halfords for me Paul - treat it as a "Group idea" - a good one.

RE: Meguiars Lambs Wool Wash Mitt
Could I make a suggestion?
Don't bother with the lambs wool wash mitt and go with the Meg's MicroFibre version.
Why? I've used both, the lambs wool version doesn't last long and more importantly the long pile can trap grit...I know to my cost.
I've had the Micro Fibre version for two years now, it probably gets used twice a day for around 5 months of the year - it hasn't damaged any paint, it looks as good as new after a quick wash in the machine. It really is loads better than than the lambs wool one ...and it's the same price!
Just my 2p's worth

RE: Meguiars Lambs Wool Wash Mitt
i use my lambswool mitt once a week. after use i rinse it off thoroughly to prevent it holding any grit as you say. it's horses for courses i suppose. mines served me well over the last 9 months and i can't fault it, i'd have to up my cleaning regime considerably to give it the use you do. wonder how it'll be looking after a couple of years use. still no matter what type of mitt you buy they're still far more paint friendly and easier to use than a sponge

I agree they could trap grit - rinsing is the important thing. However, they are ~£10 a go - renewing it every 3-6 months if your use demands it is still not going to break the bank.
I only get a frequent as washing once a week if the summer is good, but I expect I have a good a collection of products in my garage as anyone, when I clean, I CLEAN!
Before the MRC meet I extended my normal routine to "full capacity" and included polishing under sides of the exhaust trim and washing my pedal rubbers! LOL.

RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Meguiars Lambs Wool Wash Mitt
I'm with Dave, I've been using (the same) Megs microfibre mitt for years. I really think the lambswool is "I can see you coming" type of product. So many of these products are unecessary, and invented to confuse into trying them, I bet they have a right ligh in the factories. "Ooh let's try one in an orange bottle, call it something different and people will buy it." That said, there are a few things that are an absolute must for everyday use. A good mitt, not one made from cashmere or kryptonyte extract, no sponge, 2 buckets, a good shampoo (Megs Gold Class) some Scratch X in the cupboard, Liquid leather, a clay bar, then someone like Dave to come along every 6 months and do a proper job with a Polish and Wax.
That leaves some space in the garage for a ride-on mower and a secret stash of continental pornography.
