Zymol stuff in Halfords

Post by ammwhite » Mon Mar 31, 2003 2:15 pm

I was in my local Halfords yesterday and noticed that they are now stocking Zymol polish @ £11.99 a bottle. Anyone tried this stuff? Is it any good? I normally just use Turtle Wax.

cheers,
Andy

A friend uses Zymol (though he pays a lot more than £11.99 for it so suspect it's from a different range)

The general concensus with Zymol seems to be that it's great stuff (probably the best around) but you do pay a lot for it.

The results are good, but no better than can be achived with Meguiars in my opinion, plus I find the Meguiars really easy to buff off with very little dust.

Meguiars isn't expensive either, I've got the tyre gel, 3 stage polish, gold class wash, 2 towels and 4 applicators and I paid about £50 for it.

Speak to Bushy, he'll sort you out.

Certainly once you've used Meguiars you won't bother with Turtle Wax again

....oh and get a lambswool mit

I think this must be a sort of 'budget' version Zymol do for Halfords, since the cheapest stuff on their website is £40 I'm sure that is good stuff, just not sure if the stuff in Halfords is any better than standard Turtle Wax, Autoglym etc...

I find AutoGlym a little dusty when buffing it off, and turtle was is just hardwork I think.

If I had to choose between the budget products I'd go for Mer as it is easy to apply and isn't too tricky to remove.

...but for a few more quid I'd go for Meguiars, it is worth the extra.
