I have always been keen on keeping my car lokking it's best and was content with regular wash, wax, vac etc until I discovered the world of detailing on this forum. Now I would like to start trying my hand at some of the detailing techniques and make my car look even better.
I not really sure where to start IMO other than picking up on the threads here, is there such a thing as a detailing manual also where would I get hold of the products. From what I can see on here Meguiars seems to to consistently come out on top.

get lost in the finer arts of swirl removal.... It is addictive once youve seen the difference it makes a car look.
Ive taken 7 years worth of swirls of a nogaro S4 and the paint looks like its just out of the factory.

Ive just taken the plunge to get further into this detailing lark and have just ordered an Ultimate detailing machine from the USA (Autopia-carcare.com). I also bought some zymol clay2 + lube and am going to probably be divorced when I get the machine as both cars are going to get a good going over. The sad thing is I cant wait to get the machine.

They dont have the Meguiars G220 in stock anywhere at the moment. They had some problems with the first batch so have gone back to the drawing board (possible issue with the speed controller and some loose connectors apparently) so are not restocking suppliers.ghoonk wrote:you guys are lucky. I'd kill to get a 240V version of the PC or UDM, which I can't seem to find anywhere these days
They should be around in about two to three weeks IIRC.
I just took delivery of the UDM and the site transformer this week in lieu of a G220. Not disappointed at all, its a nice bit of kit but I have not yet tried it out on the car. Did the tank on one of my bikes and the kitchen worksurface (LOL) for practise getting a feel of how the machine handles.
