Wheel Wax

Post by s2driver » Fri May 09, 2003 1:04 pm

Bushy,

Tried your "banana milkshake" wheel wax last weekend and I have to say that this is quite an amazing product. It took me 3 hours to take the wheels off to clean them properly and apply 2 coats of wax. I hadn't washed them for several weeks and they were covered in a combination of CV grease after a boot failure, grit in the crevices, and copious amounts of black brake dust all over.

First observation was that the wheels seemed to buff up to a high shine, hiding minor scratches in the process.
A week after application and cleaning brake dust off is an absolute breeze. Why didn't I use this stuff before????

Top stuff for keeping your wheels easy to maintain. Highly recommended.

Did my Sportecs yesterday and look really nice. Must admit the standard jack is really flimsy although serves its purpose though. Also treated the Moviv and GmbH calipers while I was doing it. Love the smell of the wax!!!

Right I have a dilhemma

The current Wheel wax I sell is from an american company imported into the UK

the UK importer has changed hands and the new company wont give me the same ratres of discount and are not happy that I sell it for £16.99 no the RRP £19.99

The current supplier has started to promote a new "improved" product at the same rates with a new type packaging

It was always labelled Hyper Turismo's Wheel Wax, if any of you read the small print. Hyper Turismo was the importer, so I can still legitamately sell the same product

So can i have your views on what to do

<input type="radio" name="option" value="2" />Keep the same product and increase the price

Look forward to your input

Oh yeah the new improved one has additional carnubba for longer life and additional polymers to let it be stable up to 800C, so should be Ok for track day rims then

I`ve not bought any products off you yet except the nuts!
I would say aslong as it works asgood as the previous version then go for the new improved stuff.
Keep up the good work.

How about getting someone to do a test of the new stuff and see if they can tell any difference ?
Assuming they can't, then I'd stick with the supplier and go for the new stuff at its lower price.

Only comment would be to not commit to too much of the stuff mate incase people don't like it and want to pay the extra for the current one.

Can you get Zymol ??
If so I can probably get a few more customers for you

Sorry mate I looked at selling Zymol but think it isnt worth the money

Alot of their products are epensive when Meguiars IMHO can give as good results as Zymol and last just as long, why spend the additional money just for the name?

It doesnt give that much of a better job

It is all down to how the vehicle is looked after really

No problem. Just the Porsche guys swear by it. (I have a box of it at home and haven't used it yet ! lol)

But then I'd rather be out driving than polishing

Good suggestion ... apply US Wheel Wax to the left side alloys and the "new improved" UK version to the rights and see how they compare; same vehicle therefore wheels see the same conditions.
