have you noticed that on the spotters forum
a large percentage of spotted S and RS models never get claimed!!!
i would love to be spotted (I'd be right chuffed)
does this meen that there are a large percentage of S and RS owners that aren't RS246 members!!!
or dont they give a sh*t
or does this mean most of our future cars are leased!!

coments please before this gets moved to general chat

I don't much read about the spotted cars... I don't post on here because I see so many!

The vast majority of 'keepers' never look at this site unfortunately.

True, but if you think about it, most cars are just tools or status symbols. There are very few enthusiasts if you look at people and their cars.

I found this even when I owned a handbuilt British Sports Car. Most owners worried about paint colour rather than engine spec

They would still qualify as car enthusiasts to me though. I'm thinking of how few people I know off this forum who pursue an interest in cars.

my S4 is my daily company runner

but to me its my pride and joy.

in a past life i have worked on cars as a mechanic , both for vauxhall and for vw/audi (i now do something comletely different)
but audi -for me- have always hit the right button
a drivers car - not fussy or full of crap. you get in and drive and it does what it is supposed to do.
for me it is a multi tasking car for a multi tasking age
practical everyday with a scorpion style sting.
on the open road the driving exhilleration is second to none.
i suppose we are all different!

Maybe we can have a Midlands spotters section as they are much rarer up hearer than they are in the Home Counties!

Whenever I see someone posting a spot on a brand new car, RS4 B7 for example, I just think that there's no chance of the owner responding. IMHO, I reckon there's a slim chance that the older models that are spotted getting a response from the owners. Having said that, no-one's spotted mine, and I use mine to get to work every day.

And, no offence to the owners of the newer cars, but I find it difficult to spot proper 'S' models from the cheeky diesels with 'S Line' kits, and even if I do clock a proper S, by the time I've ID'd it, I've got no chance of getting the plate details.

I've only been "spotted" once in nearly three years of ownership. But as Jarv says, by the time someone has spotted one it is often too late to get plate details.

Which reminds me, I need to post up about a B7 RS4 and an S3 parked side by side......
