Waved to you at a zebra crossing: I was in the Daytona RS6 (en route back from MRC, as is often the case). Would have stopped for a natter but I don't think the ladies would have been impressed with the car talk!

Interesting that the B5 was on an '04' plate. Was it Avus by any chance? AFAIK there was only one car that could get away with such a late plate. It was stolen from an Audi dealer before being registered and was then registered in 2004.

One of my first ever posts on 246 ten years ago was regarding this infamous stolen recovered iirc!

Audi dealer trying to sell it posted on 246 trying to defend it having 'Full Service History' despite the fact it had been stolen unregistered and recovered three years later with 20,000 miles(?) on the clock.....

Sorry slobber, total fail on B7 recognition. Thought it was in good nick for a B5 - reassuring to have such astute detective work on the forum though.

Yeah, picked the car up from MRC (its natural habitat) that day and thought I'd 'nip' into Oxford so the wife could do a bit of shopping (much as Banbury is a shopping paradise). Big mistake: after about an hour of sitting in city centre traffic I ended up parking on Broad Street in a space exactly 2 inches wider than the car, and when I got back someone in a pickup thing had taken the space next to me, and the only way I could escape was to climb in through the boot!! Considerate...

Christ, I've got into cars through the front passenger door before, but never through the tailgate, that much have been hilarious!
