Yesterday on the A413, travelling south between Winslow and Whitchurch, a Rosso Red F40 passed in the opposite direction and nailed it past the transit van it was following once I was clear. Awesome sight and sound!

Great car for a great road. Some nice cars around the area.

So rare to see, let alone see one being driven as it should be, especially given the escalation in values lately. 5 years ago, you could buy one for about £250K, but now asking prices are upwards of £500K.

I remember seeing my first one in the flesh in Knightsbridge around 1994 (slow moving in traffic though). I was amazed how good it actually looked and hadn't realised how cool all the mesh vents were as they just looked solid black in all the photos I'd seen at the time.

Saw a photo of a crashed and mangled one on Facebook today, don't worry, I won't post the photo. :(

Was it in a ditch around Winslow per chance.....

Seeing as they are becoming impossible to write off now as mentioned above with asking prices anything up to 750k for micro milers, there must be quite a few crash damaged repaired cars out there by now!

Amazing car and great spot!

The only F40 I have ever seen in the flesh was at the London Science Museum in around 1989 I think. Was part of a Fiat Exhibition that they had on at the time. Remember walking into the room and couldn't believe my eyes then I saw the F40 in there! Got a clip round the ear from my mum for using all the film in the camera.

Just had a look on Google for the car and found this about it, seems it was an early prototype:

I am pretty sure the F40 RS4Guy saw is local to the area. I've seen one myself on the same road although nearer to Buckingham.

You lot wanna get down to the silverstone classic. There was about 40 of them there last year which included a Michelotto one. There was also a F40 LM at Ferrari day a couple of years back (it broken down though  )

I was at that classic and it was amazing. In celebration of the F40s anniversary they tried to get as many as possible and on the sunday there was 52 or 54 (can't remember exactly) and they done a parade lap which was indescribable.

I saw photos of that, it looked amazing. I didn't even think there was any where near that many in Europe let alone the UK.

Here's one I took some photos of back in 2002 at Auto Italia at Donnington.

Talking of F40, My twins had their prom tonight and one of the guys got dropped of at the prom by an F40, think I was more interested in taking pics of that more that anything else... this one looked like it was an everyday driver as there were a few marks like its had been over more than a few speed bumps.. but it sounded superb...
