Wheel Refurb Dilemma !!!!!!

Post by HYFR » Wed Jun 06, 2012 9:10 pm

Can someone tell me what to do ...

Car needs x4 wheel refurb and new tyres fitting

want to do this in one go

really do not want to leave the car with anyone for longer than I have to unless I have complete trust they will not go for joy rides once their pikey 18yr apprentice realises how fast it is

North London or Milton Keynes ...

I half minded to use Pristine Wheels but they want the car for 3 days ...

what would you do ?

Don't get them done at Lepsons, the Titanium set I recently fitted had been refurbed there, and they are shocking, I'm thinking of getting them done again, my local place does a far superior job.My local Audi dealer send their R8 polished alloys to Pristine, so if you get them done there I would be interested in the quality, as I can't get a local company to do the polished finish.I thought you would have sourced some 20's by now.

sadly dave, if you want a good job doing it will take around 3 days. Ask if anyone has a set of wheels you can borrow, stick them on the beast and send yours in for refurb. Hardest job is finding a good company to do the refurb these days
previous- Pug 205 gti, 306 gti, 309 gti Goodwood.
Audi S3, S4 V8 avant.
Porsche Macan Turbo.
Gone but NEVER forgotten - C5 RS6 Misano red avant.

Now - Empty garage

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there!

D_K, I have a spare set of 5 spoke titan 20's I could part with for a few days.
Give me a call when you can.
Daytona C6 RS6 Avant: Demand Engineering Exhaust (Downpipes custom to tip)
Soon to add: Hybrid Turbos; Uprated Gearbox; Marston Intercoolers; ECU / TCU mapping

Forum love, a thing of beauty.
It may end in tears though, once DK puts those 20" titan 5 spokers on, he'll be faced with "what's the best way to tell Bretto that I'm not giving his wheels back?" dilemma.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Forgive me for pointing out the bleeding obvious DK - do Bretts four 20" alloys already wrapped with tyres AND your four new 20" Vredestiens all fit in a saloon?

This is where the Caravelle could come in handy!

Just thought I'd mention it! Don't forget your old bed sheets / dust sheets / bin bags. My boot floor is still showing the marks from Autoglym vinyl and rubber care after transporting my winter wheels ans tyres!!

The paint is as rough as sandpaper and extremely thin, in fact almost none existent in places.I think I could have done better with a rattle can.
