Does anybody have any views on the ownership and usability between these two cars? Also, what potential issues could each one have?

Yes iv had both

The C5 is a dinosour now and will cost you literally thousands in repairs and maintenance

The B7 is very reliable and quite cheap to run

The C5 is faster in a straight line but can't hide its fat arse in the bends

The noise of the B7 with a milltek is worth it alone

Both very different cars, DK will be along soon, he's had a few of both C5, plus and B7 variants!

Depends what you want from a car, the B7 is more fun, better balanced and manual. The RS 6 is more expensive to run, but will go quicker without having to redline it using all the torque low down thanks to the twin turbos. I think you should forget both and go for a D3 5.2 Audi S8 with B&O and ceramics, I was tempted but just had to get the RS6 out of my system and after owning a few A8/S8s I really wanted an RS.

Thanks. I'm going to try and find a good B7 RS4 Avant. If anyone knows of one, please let me know.
